Central HB Service
The Central Hawke’s Bay Social Interaction Group meets each Wednesday from 9am to 12.00 noon at the Central Hawke’s Bay EIT Campus. The morning is broken down into times of support group work, social time, speakers and brain injury education.
We have a contract and membership with the Westpac Gym in Waipukurau to provide a similar gym programme to the one we operate in Taradale.
Group objectives are:
- To provide and use strategies with self-confidence.
- To provide an opportunity to get to know new people.
- To provide guidance with problem solving in personal, social and work related situations.
- To support each other with real life experiences.
- To raise people’s insight and awareness of their situation through interaction and feedback from peers, watching peers and comparing and discussing strategies.
- For participants to practice time management with punctuality – and at least 80% attendance.
- To accept advice and direction from peers.
- To offer clients, with addiction issues, links to a service which can provide appropriate support for their addictions.
